Some Galaxy S25 Ultra buyers report mysterious screen glitch

Samsung has started the delivery of its new flagship smartphones. The new devices come AI-packed, offering stunning user experiences. Meanwhile, some Galaxy S25 Ultra buyers report mysterious screen glitch and unkind return policies.

Reddit user CoolteyFeng alleged that Samsung has sent a defective Galaxy S25 Ultra that has a screen glitch. The panel develops thin horizontal lines, mainly while picking up the phone to wake up the screen before unlocking.

The consumer reported that the S25 Ultra screen has a blinking problem. The user tested the device in Safe Mode following Samsung Support’s instructions. A full factory reset also didn’t work, confirming that it’s a hardware defect.

Another incident came to light where the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s display developed multiple vertical lines while using the camera. The lines mainly appear while switching through different zoom levels using the Zoom Rocker UI.

It’s a worse experience than the blinking display glitch, but seems to be a software problem. Only the camera viewfinder showcases weird colors and vertical lines and the remaining part of the screen remains fine, glitch-free.

Such incidents create concern over Samsung’s quality standards. Defects in the initial batch of consumer units could lead to widespread outrage, potentially harming sales by consumers who are in the final phase of making a purchase.

Samsung should offer a consumer-friendly return policy over hardware defects. A dedicated window should also be formed to listen to consumers’ concerns if they are missing out on benefits for what they’ve been waiting for.
